Eric Ramirez
Chairman
Eric is a seasoned investor. He heads SR Capital, a principal investment firm that acquires or incubates small to medium-sized businesses. SR Capital owns a leading outdoor advertising company in the Philippines. Together with a partner, SR Capital had also acquired and subsequently divested a leading loyalty management company with operations in Taiwan, Australia, Hong Kong and the Philippines. Eric was previously Philippine Country Head for Walden International, a global venture capital firm managing US$2 billion. At Walden, he invested approximately US$40 million and served on the boards of many companies, including Sun Microsystems Philippines, Philippine Seven, and outsourcing companies such as Software Ventures (SVI) and Pacific Microwave (PMC). SVI and PMC were early stage investments that have now grown to more than 1,000 people each.
Eric has BS and MS Degrees in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University and was formerly the President of the Philippine Stanford Alumni Association.
Gabriel Singson Jr.
Director
Jay served as Undersecretary of Finance for Privatization, Republic of the Philippines from 2005 to 2006 where he managed the sale of various government assets, notably its substantial stake in the Philippine National Bank. In the same capacity, he also helped structure for privatization various assets such as Maynilad Water Services Inc. and PNOC - Energy Development Corporation, the latter being one of the largest geothermal companies in the world, resulting in transactions approximating US$ 900 million. From 1997 to 2004, Jay was President and a shareholder of Telemondial Holdings. Inc., a cable television provider which he co-founded in 1994. Jay was instrumental in the merger of Telemondial with Sky Vision Corporation's provincial operations to form Pilipino Cable Corporation, one of the leading cable television operators in the country, where he then served as Vice Chairman. He was formerly the Chief Operating Officer and a shareholder of Macondray and Co. Inc., an investment holding company which had interests in food, consumer finance, distribution, and packaging. As COO of Macondray & Co., Jay played a key role in acquiring a controlling interest in Del Monte Philippines Inc. in 1996 and subsequently listing Del Monte Pacific Limited in the Singapore stock exchange in 1999 with a market capitalization of approximately US$ 675 million at the time of listing.
Jay holds a MBA from the Wharton School and a B.S. in Business Management (Honors Program), and magna cum laude from the Ateneo de Manila University.
Nori Poblador
Director
Nori is Managing Director of Iron Capital Management Corporation, a private equity fund that invests in businesses in the Philippines. Nori was Vice President at Morgan Stanley’s Private Equity Group, where he was part of the team that managed the US$330 million Global Emerging Markets Fund. He was also an Associate at Credit Suisse First Boston’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group in Hong Kong, specializing in the telecoms, media and technology sectors. He has experience investing in and advising companies in a variety of industries in Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
Nori graduated with a degree in Management Economics from the Ateneo de Manila University and earned his MBA from Columbia University in New York. He is currently the Co-President of the Columbia University Alumni Association in the Philippines.
Atty. Joy Pena
Director
Prior to starting her own firm, Joy was a Senior Partner for Ponce Enrile, Reyes & Manalastas, a leading law firm in the Philippines. She has a law degree from the University of the Philippines and a Masters of Law from Harvard University. In her year, Joy ranked number one in the Philippine Bar Exam. |
